Whats the role
As a Senior Credit Assessor you will assess and approve selfemployed applications from brokers. You will work with brokers to ensure timely customer outcomes and a positive broker experience. The ideal candidate should have experience with complex applications attention to detail strong communication skills and a sense of increased accountability.
Key Role Requirements:
- Assess loan applications for viability based on brokersubmitted information
- Maximise approvals by analysing complex scenarios and offering structured credit advice
- Review financials (e.g. Tax Returns) for selfemployed and multientity applicants
- Communicate decisions and recommendations clearly to brokers primarily via phone
- Escalate exceptions to Mortgage Credit Officers with strong supporting rationale
- Build trusted relationships with brokers through sound advice and responsive service
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all assessments to meet service and audit standards
- Guide brokers on loan structuring using knowledge of Westpac Group products and policies
- Troubleshoot application issues to ensure a seamless customer experience
What do I need
Youre a seasoned credit professional who thrives in a fastpaced environment and takes pride in delivering highquality outcomes. You will bring a strong mix of technical expertise attention to detail and a customerfirst mindset.
You will also have:
- Proven experience in credit assessment with complex loan structures such as construction guarantor bridging and government backed schemes
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to explain complex decisions to a variety of different stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills and the ability to assess risk identify inconsistencies and make sound credit decisions
- High attention to detail ensuring accuracy and compliance across all aspects of the credit process
- Continuous improvement mindset and always be on the lookout for different ways to improve and enhance processes and deliver better outcomes for the customer
