Job Description

Position Summary:


Assist teacher with monitoring elementary school physical education classes and facilitatingelementarystudents learning math reading and writing.

Qualifications:


Education/Certification:

  • Must be a high school graduate or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • Have experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Must have a passion for students and classical liberal arts education.
  • Ability and patience to work interactively with children especially K5th grade students.
  • Must be able to model and promote virtue.
  • Basic knowledge of federal and state education laws.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Must have strong organizational time management verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of students their parents peers campus administration superintendents and corporate staff.
    • Must have the ability to interpret policy procedures and student data such as diagnostic test results.
    • Must have the ability to adapt to change.
    • Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist Teacher or Coordinator in all areas of work.
  • Assist with understanding assessments
  • Implement instructional program and lesson plans under the Teacher or Administrator
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment by managing students behavior.
  • Help students understand lessons and monitor their progress. Provide feedback to faculty staff and parents as needed.
  • Help with playground activities lunchroom and recess.
  • Monitor and assist students in getting to and from their classroom playground gymnasium cafeteria and other settings as needed.
  • Assist the teachers in preparations including copying and distributing materials planned by the teacher.
  • Perform special projects during and after normal business hours and other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as substitute teacher when necessary
  • Assist with after school carline duty
  • Participate in educational conferences faculty meetings and professional development.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties assigned by supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
