Position Summary:As a Finance Supervisor at St. Pancras London youll take a handson role in leading the daily operations of our Finance Office. From income audit to accounts payable cashiering and credit control youll be supporting key processes that keep the business running smoothly and compliantly. Youll work closely with operational leaders to drive accountability accuracy and monthend delivery while mentoring junior team members and contributing to audits and balance sheet reconciliations. Responsibilities:Heres what your journey with us entails
- Supervising the functions of Income Audit ensuring accurate daily Gross Revenue Reports (GRRs) leading to authentic Profit & Loss statements. Ensuring circulation packs are distributed on daily basis and signed all concession and thirdparty revenue is reconciled daily and interfaced systems are in balance.
- Supervising the functions of Accounts Payable ensuring the processing of all invoices for goods received/bought by the Hotel. Supervising purchasing and procurement procedures particularly relating to correct documentation and authorisation of expenditure leading to accurate expenditure records.
- Supervising functions of the General Cashier area ensuring adherence to the Cash Handling LSOP and assisting in the solution of any problems which may arise.
- Supervising the Accounts Receivable function ensuring invoices are sent out on timely basis and with particular focus on credit control.
- Supporting and supervising Finance and Operational team to ensure both Audit and Balance Scorecard requirements are met to ensure property is green rating or meeting expected targets.
- Preparing and posting and/or reviewing journals in General Ledger to ensure an accurate monthly Profit & Loss statement.
- Preparing reviewing and maintaining reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts to prove that figures are correct and further ensuring that all reconciliations are kept current.
- Maintaining a strong accounting & operational control environment which improves operations and profitability and manages business risks. Ensuring compliance with standard and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
- Advising the Director of Finance/Assistant Director of Finance on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.
- Communicating financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and driving desired behaviours.
- Leveraging technology and effectively using information systems and tools to generate financial reports and providing managers with analytical support to drive decisionmaking.
- Assisting in conducting of Annual Audits to ensure compliance with Marriott SOPs and legislation. Ensuring action plans are set and followed through for identified weaknesses.
- Supervising the daytoday operational functions of the Finance Office.
- Providing coverage for Assistant Director of Finance in times of absence (holidays etc) and supporting Director of Finance.
- Assisting the Assistant Director of Finance and the Director of Finance in any other functions as requested and deputising for the Assistant Director of Finance in their absence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
- Strong understanding of standards and procedures.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- Detailoriented with a passion for delivering excellence in customer service.
