Department Description
The London Finance function comprises of approximately 70 staff. The primary departments are Billing Business Control Cashiers Partners Matters Salaries Financial Analysis Financial Systems and Reporting. The department is responsible for handling all financial matters in respect of the London Office and the coordination of financial affairs in the international offices.
The Cashiers Team is responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of the firms client and office bank accounts SRA Accounts Rules compliance processing of incoming bill payments and client account transactions.
Role Overview
The job holder will be responsible for maintaining transactions in the firms client cashiering function and ensuring that the proper processes are followed to ensure SRA Accounts Rules & AML compliance.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
The main duties of the position are:
Prompt recording and allocation of funds received into the firms clients general account and client deposit accounts
Processing payments from the firms clients general accounts and client deposit accounts using online banking platforms and recording these payments on 3E
Preparing interest calculations for monies held in the firms clients general account
Assisting lawyers & PAs with the prompt return of client monies to ensure compliance with rule 2.5 of the SRA Accounts Rules
Preparation of bank reconciliations for the firms office/business accounts
Providing cover for the office cashier
Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure staff location or services.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
Several years legal cashiering experience
Education to an ALevel standard or equivalent minimum requirement GCSE standard depending on career experience
