As the Personal Lines Underwriter you will play a key role in evaluating and underwriting personal lines insurance applications while maintaining strong broker relationships and supporting operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
Underwriting & Risk Assessment:
o Evaluate accept reject and price new business renewals and endorsements within delegated authority levels.
o Ensure underwriting decisions are aligned with corporate guidelines and risk appetite.
Broker Relations & Support:
o Foster strong partnerships with brokers by providing timely responses exceptional service and clear communication.
o Offer underwriting guidance and support to brokers to help them succeed in servicing their clients.
Team Collaboration & Process Improvement:
o Collaborate with internal teams to streamline workflows and ensure highquality service delivery.
o Contribute to ongoing process improvements training initiatives and departmental growth strategies.
Market Knowledge & Compliance:
o Stay current on market trends competitor products and regulatory changes affecting personal lines underwriting.
o Maintain compliance with all applicable guidelines procedures and regulations.
To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:
Education & Experience:
o A diploma or degree in business insurance or a related field is preferred.
o 5 years of experience in personal lines underwriting preferably in a brokerfocused environment.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency with policy management systems such as Power Broker EPIC or similar platforms.
o Familiarity with Guidewire PolicyCenter is a strong asset.

o Strong analytical thinking and problemsolving abilities.
o Detailoriented organized and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
