Prudential Financial Inc.s (PFI) Open Architecture Solutions (OAS) team is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to fulfill the role of Manager 9P/Finance Treasury which will be based in the U.S. and reporting to the OAS Director Treasury. This position will be responsible for all treasury activities concerning one of PFIs two Bermudabased affiliates Gibraltar Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Gibraltar Re) and Lotus Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Lotus Re).

Gibraltar Re was licensed as a Class E reinsurer by the Bermuda Monetary Authority in Oct. 2018. The company is primarily focused on reinsurance with affiliate PFI operations domiciled in Japan and has periodically reviewed limited external transactions. Lotus Re was licensed as a Class E reinsurer in September 2021 and expanded PFIs presence in Bermuda with the primary purpose of assuming risk from PFIs US businesses.

PFI uses reinsurance to enable us to keep our longterm promises to policyholders while appropriately managing balance sheet risk and resources. Both companies support OASs objectives of producing more economic outcomes for certain products and liabilities while remaining anchored in our guiding principles of maintaining focus on all of our stakeholders (PFI shareholders ratings agencies and regulators) and improving outcomes for existing and new policyholders.

The Manager will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of capital management this includes forecasting monitoring and reporting of total asset requirement and required capital. They will also be assisting with the monitoring and solutioning for the entitys ratio sensitivities and sources of volatility. In addition the manager will collaborate with crossfunctional multidisciplinary transaction support teams to assist OAS in its strategic growthoriented objectives.

The position will provide the individual with the opportunity to gain a broad set of experiences across a range of Finance disciplines and collaborate across Finance and nonFinance teams in Bermuda Japan and the U.S. including Actuarial Global Portfolio Management Treasury and Risk Management among others.

This position is Hybrid and requires your onsite presence at least threedays per week in Newark NJ.

What you can expect:

  • Lead the capital and liquidity stress testing frameworks for the Bermuda entity;

  • Assist in the development of quarterly reporting and forecasts including required capital analysis and overall summary presentations to executive management (including capital rightsizing);

  • Lead the annual update of the capital volatility cushion (CVC)

  • Involved in the analysis implementation and maintenance of various capital management initiatives such as implementing capital and liquidity monitoring setting up contingency sources of capital and other supporting BMA requirements;

  • Support various ad hoc strategic projects and presentations as well as analysis of M&A activities as the need arises;

  • Effectively partnering with stakeholders across various functional disciplines businesses and geographic locations and becoming an integral member of the OAS and broader Bermuda captives Finance team.


What youll need:

  • Bachelors degree preferably with a major in Accounting or Finance

  • 5 years of similar experience in financial analysis or reporting along with demonstrated career progression

  • Ability to work independently and drive processes forward with little instruction

  • High degree of selfmotivation passion to succeed ownership attention to detail and innovation

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Problem solver; ability to work through issues independently and as part of a team

  • Possession of an agile mindset the ability to manage through ambiguity and deliver thoughtful solutions in a complex and dynamic environment

  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines under challenging time frames

  • Flexibility to work overtime as required during peak reporting periods.


Itd be a plus if you have:

  • CPA/CFA designation or equivalent

  • Strong understanding of the insurance business including how earnings are sourced and how risks are managed

  • Understanding of the Bermuda regulatory and solvency regime

  • Familiarity with reinsurance transactions and / or accounting

  • Commercial and industry awareness including an appreciation for reinsurance transactions.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118700.00 to $176600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location candidate experience and skills.
