Inspector reports to the manufacturing supervisor and is responsible for the analysis and interpretation of blueprints routings evaluation sheets and other materials to determine specifications inspection and testing procedures and certification methods required. This position typically works under close supervision uses limited decisionmaking and has limited contact with external suppliers or customers.

What you will be doing...
- Analyze and interpret blueprints routings evaluation sheets manuals and other materials to determine specifications inspection and testing procedures adjustment and certification methods formulas and measuring instruments required.
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for part and operate basic inspection equipment (e.g. microscope functional gauges plug gage and micrometer).
- Follow all departmental safety rules and regulations and put on all appropriate safety equipment gear and clothing/protection required by work activities.
- Measure and inspect dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as rulers calipers gauges or micrometers and maintain inspection files and quality records.
- Obtain certifications as necessary to perform required processes.
- Perform visual inspection of parts looking for cleanliness damage bent parts and/or missing caps/plugs.
What we are looking for...
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of and ability to apply inspection techniques (e.g. formalized inspection standards inspection instructions best practices) and use inspection tools efficiently. The ability to read and use micrometers functional and cylindrical gauges comparators indicator setups calibration stickers and scales.
- The ability to accomplish a task with concern for all the areas involved including the ability to notice minute inconsistencies/faults in parts equipment or production processes to prevent faulty products leaving the facility.
- The ability to accurately provide the information requested on specific forms reports and logs. This includes generating or transcribing appropriate words numbers or symbols to complete written or computerized forms reports or logs.
- Knowledge of how quality impacts the success of the organization including costs to customers costs of recalls and potential costs due to negative impacts on a companys reputation. This includes taking the necessary steps to ensure quality on a consistent basis and striving for improvement.
