Pay rate: $24.79/ hr
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Protect the health and welfare of the public by defending the station against any act of radiological sabotage attack or theft of special nuclear material. As specified by procedure and the site security plan maintain a secure perimeter for site access and egress and employee contractor and visitor entry. Perform search patrol and inspections in accordance with the Station Security Plan procedures and post orders.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintain qualifications for position
Conduct patrols and inspections
Monitor access to security areas
Perform search activities
Respond to threats and contingency events
Perform equipment testing
Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Be at least 21 years of age
Have a High School diploma or GED
Have a valid Drivers License
Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment)
Be able to pass extensive background check including criminal history personal references employment and educational verifications
Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors and surveillance equipment
Be able to successfully complete all training required for the position
Demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
Pass the following postoffer in accordance with code of federal regulations for armed nuclear security assignment:
Psychological assessment physical exam including vision and hearing in accordance with nuclear regulatory requirements and site training and qualification plan.
Physical fitness (agilities) test in accordance with site training and qualification plan
Firearms qualification with handgun shotgun and rifle per client site training and qualification plan.
Nuclear sitespecific training and testing providing general knowledge of nuclear power generation science and principles this training and testing will include radiation worker principles including respirator training fit and dress out.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Individuals with prior
1. Military; OR
2. Current/Prior Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice; OR
Commercial Security/Loss Prevention experience will receive preferential consideration for these vacancies.
