POSITION TITLE:Long Term Substitute Art Teacher (Mid September December 23 2025)GENERAL DESCRIPTION: To participate as a member of both a school staff and the District art team in planning and implementing learning activities for students. The art teacher will implement the districtsestablished curriculum in art education as well as general policies and OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year are in accordance with the current Master Contract and salary schedule. CLASSIFICATION:Fair Labor Standards Act Exempt REPORTS TO: Building PrincipalEVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions in the current Master Agreement between the Colchester Education Association and the School Board. Evaluation will be completed according to the guidelines defined in the districts Differentiated Evaluation : 1. Licensed by the Vermont Department of Education with a current endorsement in art education.2. Demonstrated experience and commitment to interdisciplinary/learning and the integration of arts in all curricula.3. Experience and/or knowledge of standards based teaching and instruction.4. Enthusiasm for collaboration in supporting the arts within schools and throughout the district/state.5. Commitment to the school Districts mission and Strategic RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Plan present and evaluate a flexible and sequential curriculum which appropriately addresses the abilities and interests of assigned students.2 .Collaborate with districtwide art teachers in refining curriculum and coordinating K 12 initiatives.3. Promote and maintain a visually exciting environment in the art room and throughout the school.4. Initiate and/or model creative ways of thinking and problem solving for students/staff.5. Act as a resource person to classroom teachers in planning art activities and initiating workshops as appropriate.6. Budget organize and store all supplies and equipment relative to the art program.7. Attend and contribute to both school and district meetings.8. Promote the arts in the community at large; participate in exhibits district Art Shows art clubs and other activities.9. Demonstrate individual professional growth through the plan and process initiated by the Vermont Department of Education and managed by the Colchester Local Standards Board (CLSB).10. Assume other duties as assigned by the administration.
