Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Technician to provide onsite chemistry / metallurgical testing in Derby / Hucknall (Nottingham)
Required skills and experience:
- Good IT literacy skills
- Chemistry experience is required
- Metallurgical experience would be advantageous although not essential training will be available.
- Knowledge of Aerospace manufacturing environment would be advantageous
- To be able to establish a strong working relationship with the client and be able to manage any production requirements.
- Experienced in using modern lean tools and techniques
- Preferably educated to a Degree level or equivalent in Chemistry.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Laboratory Technician will be based across two sites in Derby or Hucknall (Nottingham) where the sites offer great transport links to Derby Nottingham and the surrounding areas. The role holder will be required to work >37.5 hrs per week Mon Fri covering 06:00 to 18:00 core site times. Occasional weekend working may be required.
Key activities:
- Supporting booking in laboratory jobs and maintaining the laboratory logbook.
- Processing samples in line with SOPs including; Wet Chemistry (titrations) ISE Spectrophotometry & process chemical tank sampling
- Processing samples in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including; cutting grinding polishing etching assessment.
- Ensuring calibration standards are maintained to an IS017025 standard
