Science CoordinatorBenjamin Banneker Charter Public SchoolThe Science Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the design implementation and assessment of a highly innovative and successful handson K6 science program at the Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School. The Science Coordinator provides leadership for all aspects of the science program and also supports staff professional development in science by working directly with teachers and students in classrooms leading the Science Team and facilitating the Banneker Science Seminar responsibilities include:Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Science Coordinator/Coach to join our dynamic team. The Science Coordinator/Coach will play a pivotal role in advancing the quality of science education at our school. This position requires a passion for science education strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff to ensure all students achieve academic :Monitoring and Analyzing MCAS Science Data: Utilize MCAS science data to assess student performance and identify areas for improvement. Analyze trends and develop strategies to enhance science Science Professional Development: Develop and facilitate professional development sessions for K6 staff to enhance their pedagogical skills and content knowledge in science education. Provide ongoing support to ensure effective implementation of best and Monitoring Classroom Science Instruction: Collaborate with teachers to support and monitor classroom science instruction. Offer guidance resources and feedback to enhance teaching effectiveness and student Academic Success for All Students: Work closely with teachers administrators and support staff to ensure that all students including those from diverse backgrounds and varying abilities have access to highquality science education and opportunities for academic Designing and Implementing Science Curriculum: Lead the development writing and design of a comprehensive science curriculum aligned with state standards and school goals. Ensure the effective implementation of the curriculum through ongoing support and and implementing Science Assessments to ensure fidelity to curriculumIdentifying Monitoring Organizing and Providing Science Resources: Identify evaluate and organize science resources including materials equipment and technology tools to support teachers in delivering engaging and effective science instruction. Monitor resource usage and provide guidance on effective :Bachelors degree in Education Science or a related field (Masters degree preferred)Valid teaching license/science certificationMinimum of 3 years of teaching experience in elementary science educationDemonstrated leadership experience in curriculum development professional development or instructional coachingStrong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive instructional decisionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including teachers administrators and community membersKnowledge of best practices in science education including inquirybased learning STEM integration and differentiation strategiesProficiency in educational technology tools and resourcesCommitment to equity diversity and inclusion in educationTerms: 11 monthsSalary: Commensurate with experience and educationWe offer competitive compensation and benefits professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment committed to excellence in science education.
