The Operating Engineer is responsible for operating maintaining troubleshooting and repairing various facility systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in at least one core area (Electrical HVAC Piping/Plumbing or Central Utility Plant Operations) and will be multiskilled to assist across other technical disciplines as needed.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Mechanical Electrical Plumbing Structural Furniture Fire & Life Safety and Control Systems.
Maintain and optimize the performance of HVAC systems including inspection cleaning calibration and part replacement.
Monitor record and adjust equipment readings to ensure operational standards are met.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures hazardous material handling and proper workplace housekeeping.
Conduct routine checks on tools and instruments; maintain inventory.
Oversee and evaluate the quality and cost of services performed by external contractors.
Identify safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Support overall facility operations including purchasing inventory control and contracted maintenance.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: 5 7 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
Strong working knowledge of Commercial/Industrial Mechanical Electrical Plumbing and HVAC systems.
Proven ability to diagnose system issues and implement timely corrective actions.
Certification: EPA 608 Type II required.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
EPA 608 Universal Certification.
Two years of technical/trade school in HVAC electrical systems or refrigeration.
Full Time
