Be a catalyst for change in the lives of high school students requiring specialized support. This role emphasizes individualized instruction within a therapeutic setting aiming to equip students with the skills necessary for success beyond the classroom.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement IEPs in collaboration with support teams
- Select and utilize instructional materials that align with curriculum goals
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain open communication with all stakeholders involved in student development
- Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment
- Participate in professional development and school initiatives
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Virginia Special Education teaching license (preferred); general education licenses considered based on experience
- Experience with special education populations
- Ability to lead a selfcontained classroom with strong structure and support
- Strong collaboration flexibility and student advocacy skills
