Job Description
Summary: Be a catalyst for change in the lives of high school students requiring specialized support. This role emphasizes individualized instruction within a therapeutic setting aiming to equip students with the skills necessary for success beyond the classroom.
What You’ll Do:
Design and implement IEPs in collaboration with support teams
Select and utilize instructional materials that align with curriculum goals
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
Maintain open communication with all stakeholders involved in student development
Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment
Participate in professional development and school initiatives
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree
Valid Virginia Special Education teaching license (preferred); general education licenses considered based on experience
Experience with special education populations
Ability to lead a selfcontained classroom with strong structure and support
Strong collaboration flexibility and student advocacy skills
