Summary:
Use AutoCAD (2005 or later) and/or 2D/3D SolidWorks to create and modify engineering drawings such as electrical schematics panel layouts brackets and wireway layouts for blow molding machinery production and retrofitting.
Key Responsibilities:
Create/update Bills of Materials in the mainframe system.
Collaborate with engineers to modify and upgrade design documents.
Implement Engineering Change Orders based on input from Engineering Production and Service.
Assist in maintaining safety signs and labels database for engraving.
Modify machine diagrams and mechanical assembly drawings.
Communicate with external equipment manufacturers to ensure design integration.
Produce detailed multiview drawings from sketches and layouts.
Review drawings for accuracy dimensions materials and assembly relationships.
Calculate angles weights tolerances and other design parameters.
Qualifications :
Associates degree in engineering or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years experience with AutoCAD (2005 or newer) and electrical components knowledge preferred.
Minimum 3 years experience with 3D design software such as SolidWorks Solid Edge Catia or Mechanical Desktop.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software.
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety guidelines.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Basic algebra and geometry skills for design calculations.
Strong problemsolving and critical thinking skills.
Physical Requirements:
Mostly sedentary work involving sitting and use of hands for computer work.
Occasional standing walking and lifting up to 10 pounds.
Visual acuity including color vision and close focus is required.
Work Environment:
Generally quiet office environment.
