Job Description
The Process & Plant Operator is responsible for the safe compliant and efficient operation
and maintenance of the facility. This position performs activities required to operate and
maintain the plant as part of a team including process control laboratory testing equipment
operation and basic maintenance duties.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control facility operations through SCADA systems instrument panels and programmable logic control units
- Operate and monitor automatic and semiautomatic equipment including pumps engines generators valves gates mixers conveyors blowers centrifuges and chemical feed systems
- Perform laboratory testing (chemical physical biological) for process control including TS TSS pH and other typical wastewater/anaerobic digestion tests
- Monitor and adjust chemical dosages and process parameters
- Sample wastewater sludge and gases according to schedule
- Maintain detailed operational logs and records
- Perform preventive maintenance basic repairs and support maintenance technicians with complex tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety quality and environmental procedures
- Practice proper housekeeping and waste disposal
- Diagnose operational issues and implement corrective actions
- Support team objectives and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Education & Experience:
- Minimum postsecondary education required
- Minimum 25 years related experience
- Associates degree in science/technical field preferred
- Heavy Equipment Operator certification an asset
- Experience with anaerobic digestion highly regarded
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes Anaerobic Digestion
processes and laboratory procedures - Proficient computer skills (SCADA email data analysis)
- Valid drivers license with clean record
- Forklift certification preferred
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical abilities
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Basic mathematical skills
- Detailoriented with ability to follow procedures
- Teamoriented with strong work ethic
Work Environment:
- Fastpaced physical environment
- Exposure to dust and process odors
- Must provide own transportation
Schedule:
- MondayFriday
- Rotating shifts: 6:00 AM2:30 PM & 2:30 PM10:30 PM
- Overtime availability
