Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Operator I monitors and maintains boilers hot water generators and supporting systems This position act is to perform operations and/or maintenance services installation or repairs in one or more skills areas such as plumbing mechanical electrical repairs pneumatic hydraulic installation carpentry painting or vehicle servicing.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.
- Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment
- Learn and support operations for the areas of his/her responsibility.
- Control and create documents within the Utilities departments and maintain department
- Record and respond to client complaints related to the Utility department and inform management.
- Prepare review and modify procedures related to the Utilities department.
- Report the departments performance status and quality improvements to the Project Manager
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Qualifications :
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Some experience in a related position and environment preferred.
- Five to seven years in various positions within a utilities environment with knowledge of methods principles and practices of operating maintaining and repairing utility equipment instrumentation and associated systems.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must demonstrate a working ability to use computer programs for process control.
- Must have the ability to read write and comprehend English (operational process safety and quality instructions).
- Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of current and pending utilities standards regulations and federal state and local laws and codes.
- Must be able to serve rotational 24hour emergency oncall if required by site.
- Must be able to respond to emergency calls as needed and work extended hours to accommodate site needs.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Must possess a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check.
- Must hold or be working toward the highest level /Certification and highestlevel license as required by site.
