The Role
This is an entrylevel Linux/Splunk Engineer role with a significant focus on leading and shaping the data analytics and Splunk architecture for a critical national security mission. Its not just about routine system administration; its about taking ownership of the entire logging pipeline to provide realtime mission visibility. The person in this role will be a key player in helping analysts extract meaningful intelligence from vast amounts of data. This is a 100% onsite role in Laurel MD with a base salary around $165k and a $10000 signon bonus paid within your first 30 days.
What Youll Bring
Technical BS (or 4 years of experience)
Foundational understanding of systems thinking and an eagerness to apply it within secure environments.
Demonstrated understanding of the logging space and a desire to learn (or experience with) data translation into actionable insights.
Experience reducing alert noise optimizing search latency and designing effective Splunk dashboards (with guidance and mentorship).
Ability to collaborate with mission users to improve their insighttodecision pipeline within Splunk.
Experience or strong desire to learn and apply best practices for tuning Splunk ingestion and parsing logic.
IAT Level 1 certification (Sec A Net CCNA etc.).
Bonus Points If You Have:
Familiarity with Splunk concepts or any introductory Splunk certifications.
Exposure to data processing concepts or tools like NiFi or ELK.
A basic understanding of cloud computing environments.
Clearance Requirements
TS/SCI with FS Polygraph (no clearance upgrades or CCAs). Please note you MUST have the required clearance for consideration (uncleared or undercleared applicants will not receive a response).

100% onsite in Laurel MD
