Position Summary
Under administrative direction from the City Clerk this position is a frontline multidimensional job that requires flexibility and a willingness to assist guests and visitors inventory museum artifacts create rotating exhibits prepare and make historical presentations to schools research and apply for grant funding. It encompasses the need to work weekdays Saturdays and occasional nights as needed. Hours will be approximately 1820 hours per week.
Essential Functions - Inventories and preserves all museum items artifacts and records; creates and schedules rotating museum exhibits; becomes familiar with Erlanger history and exhibit items.
- Greets visitors in a professional courteous manner and provides guided tours as needed with age appropriate awareness.
- Answers telephone and responds to emails in a professional courteous and timely manner.
- Provides educational tours programs and handson workshops for local K12 students youth groups families and adults as needed; develops and implements educational materials and programs for the public under the guidance of the City Clerk; works with the school systems to bring exhibits and programs into the schools
- Performs office duties related to Museum projects
- Maintains records related to Erlanger history visitation and activities at the Museum
- Researches and writes grants for the Museum
- Prepares a monthly report on visitation presentations activities and submits to the City Clerk
- Accepts ownership of responsibilities and duties; requires minimal guidance
- Updates all procedures related to this position; submits revised procedures to the City Clerk
- Performs other duties as required.

- Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Certificates and Licenses
- Valid Drivers License
- Minimum: High School diploma or GED
- Desired: Bachelors Degree or similar education or work experience
- Computer Skills: Computer skills to perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Internet software spreadsheet software and word processing software.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
Environment
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with some travel to different sites; incumbents may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends and may be required to travel outside City boundaries to attend meetings and/or training.

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop bend kneel crouch reach and twist; to lift carry push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
