GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Functions in a multidisciplinary team to provide a professional and child friendly environment to assist in the investigation of child sexual abuse and serious physical abuse. Conducts victim sensitive forensic interviews with the child victim as part of the investigative process. Types and reviews interview reports for provision to members of the multidisciplinary team. Testifies in court or DCFS administrative hearings upon request.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct child victimsensitive interviews adjusting interviewing strategies based on the childs communicative competence and cultural diversity.
  • Provides relevant information to members of multidisciplinary team in all staffings and follow up.
  • Participates in all case staffings with multidisciplinary team.
  • Participates and satisfactorily completes all required training and continuing education programs for the forensic interviewer role as well as in cross training with other disciplines represented in the multidisciplinary team. Independently reviews new research regarding child sensitive forensic interviews.
  • Completes reports within recommended time; maintains case files and related documents according to CAC policies.
  • Follows the CAC protocol for a coordinated response to child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse.
  • Represents the CAC in providing education to community groups upon the request of the CAC Executive Director.
  • Contribute positively to the work environment and be a constructive contributor to the CAC team and the larger MDT.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties listed above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in human services or similar field (social work criminal justice or counseling) related to the mission of the CAC and two years related experience in providing services for children and families. A valid Illinois Drivers License is required. Madison County residency required.

documented before application is submitted.

Attend a national conference related to forensic interviewing or child

advocacy center work
