About Jordan Valley Community Health Center:


Jordan Valley Community Health Center (JVCHC) is a missiondriven organization dedicated to improving the health of individuals and families in underserved communities. Position Summary:


The financial controller responsible for the oversight of many critical finance and accounting processes in the organization from reporting to risk management and compliance. The controller will ensure that the financial statements are accurate in compliance with relevant laws and regulations and reflective of business performance as related to Jordan Valley and its subsidiaries. Works with the CFO on the coordination and controls of Jordan Valleys fiscal services. Primary responsibilities include oversight of the daily/monthly operations for general accounting internal controls accounts payable and serving on committees related to fiscal issues. Works collaboratively with the President CFO Vice Presidents Directors and Financial team to render assistance in matters of a financial nature.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads monthend and yearend closing to ensure the timely and precise preparation of financial statements
  • Implements best in class accounting processes and improve efficiency of our financial workflows including standardizing reporting. Creates and maintains documentation for accounting processes and procedures to ensure consistency and scalability. Establishes monitors and enforces internal controls to protect assets.
  • Coordinates the preparation of internal reports external compliance reports (which includes but is not limited to both Federal and State agencies) to ensure accurate and timely submission of information due. Responsible for the coordination of audits (internal federal state operational other third party related)
  • Coordinates external reporting requirements including financial statement audit conducted to meet the requirements of A133 retirement plan audit Medicare and Medicaid cost reports form 990 tax return and federal financial status report.
  • Recommends and establishes financial performance benchmarks.
  • Oversight of accounts reconciliation.
  • Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames as part of the Jordan Valleys overall mission.
  • Responsible for departments operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies procedures and professional standards.
  • Ensures the team has the proper skills and training required for their roles and responsibilities.
  • Promotes effective working relations and work effectively as part of a team to facilitate the Clinics ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Responsibly follows the Clinic Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients families visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional responsible and courteous environment.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development through seminars conferences and community involvement.
  • Performs other administrative or management duties or responsibilities as assigned by the CFO.


Working Conditions:

  • Primarily officebased with occasional travel between different Jordan Valley Community Health Center locations as needed.
  • Fulltime position 40 Hrs. per week.

Health Requirements:

Requirements
  • Completed bachelors degree in Finance Statistics Business or a related field is required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years of professional accounting experience Healthcare and SOX controls
  • Must be highly organized and independent
