Business/Job Title: Software Development Engineer III (SDE)

Position Summary

Engineering is a core discipline at F5 for many roles. As a software engineer specializing in custom fulfillment and licensing applications in F5s traditional (registration key based) licensing space you will bring a modern agile development mindset to your work.

As an SDEIII you will be responsible for developing configuring and enhancing software applications and services. Incorporating engineering best practices into the design coding testing debugging documenting and support of software and service solutions you will work with other engineers and other teams to develop novel solutions and technologies.

What Youll Do

  • Apply modern engineering principles and practices to solution delivery and employ this rigor throughout the full software lifecycle; from initial concept and architecture through deployment as well as while refining existing systems and solutions.
  • Demonstrate problemsolving skills and collaborate with fellow engineers to devise innovative solutions that align with technical standards and business requirements.
  • Follow engineering best practices including all phases of the process from design to deployment.
  • Design build and maintain medium to complex solutions with a security first mindset.
  • Assist in team growth including recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
  • Participate and provide leadership in translating requirements into scalable and robust software designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to SDE community to ensure that the solutions are scalable performant and maintainable
  • Proactively seek out opportunities for architectural improvements optimizations and innovations.
  • Responsible for upholding F5s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact diplomacy and ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • The flexibility to adapt to changing business needs requirements and priorities
  • An excellent understanding of DevSecOps best practices
  • Strong understanding of registration key or JWTbased fulfillment and licensing a plus

Qualifications

  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years engineering experience in supporting or implementing TSQL and Azure solutions Serverless Functions and NoSQL
  • Hands on configuration and deployment experience using Terraform/ARM/Bicep
  • Hands on experience using eventbased technologies like ASB Solace etc.
  • Hands on experience supporting ETL and REST APIbased integrations
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver software solutions
  • Experience working in agile and lean software development

The annual base pay for this position is: $128099.00 $192149.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge skills experience geographic locations and market conditions as well as to reflect F5s differing products industries and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
