The Accounting Assistant and Hospital Cashier will receive and deposit all checks cash travelers checks and other forms of payment for all nonpatient accounts receivable transactions for the institution. This position will also create issue and monitor nonpatient accounts receivable invoices.
Please note:
Must be available to be on campus Tuesday through Friday.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receives and deposits all checks cash travelers checks and other forms of payment for all nonpatient accounts receivable transactions for the institution.
- Processes credit and debit card transactions; reconciles petty cash and prepaid gift card balances.
- Maintains the cash handler list and trains departmental users/cash handlers throughout the institution on internal cash control procedures.
- Creates issues and monitors nonpatient accounts receivable invoices. Receives organizes and distributes department mail.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the department and the hospital.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- High School required.
- Associates degree preferred
Minimum Experience:
- Two (2) years of cash handling experience and proven excellent customer service are required.
- Experience in a Banking or financial institution or hospital setting is preferred.
- Cash receipt posting and account receivable experience preferred.
- Accounting knowledge a plus.
- Prior Workday experience preferred.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $20.50 $34.50 per hour for the role of Accounting Assistant & Hospital Cashier.
