Description:

We are a leading MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing and Fire Protection) engineering firm serving the Midwest dedicated to designing healthy highperformance buildings. We take pride in our thoughtful problemsolving approach and strong client relationships.

As we continue to grow were looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role you will design HVAC plumbing and fire protection systems across a range of commercial industrial and institutional projects. Youll collaborate closely with both internal teams and external clients with excellent opportunities for professional development and career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC plumbing and fire protection systems under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Perform system calculations using industrystandard design software
  • Produce highquality construction drawings and technical documentation
  • Assist in creating technical reports and feasibility studies
  • Conduct field investigations and site assessments of existing systems
  • Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Construction Engineering
  • 310 years of experience in HVAC design for commercial industrial or institutional buildings
  • Experience in plumbing and fire protection systems design
  • EIT or PE license (or working toward licensure)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Revit and HVAC software (e.g. Trane TRACE Carrier HAP)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage directly with clients
  • Selfmotivated with strong organizational and problemsolving abilities

Work Schedule

  • Fulltime Monday to Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
  • Based in Ames or Des Moines IA or Omaha NE
