Description

DNV is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Maritime Digital Development team at our office in Gdynia Poland.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to strengthen our development center in Gdynia. As part of the global Maritime development team you will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions and assisting our customers in achieving their goals.

Our platform is a webcentric set of microservices that leverages the latest Microsoft technology stack and opensource solutions both onpremises and in the Azure cloud. The platform is based on making innovative use of web components for composition and machine learning/AI for data analysis and human assistance tools.

The Maritime industry needs to reduce the CO2 emissions from international shipping. DNV is a key player in helping the industry reach this goal. We aim to continue our leading role as a classification society by leading the digital transition of assurance in the maritime market and taking new thirdparty roles towards a wider part of the value chain. We strongly believe that our digitalization initiatives are important tools to help achieve this.

Class Developments is responsible for the maritime digital platform in DNV and is 200 people strong. Several development teams handle more than 300 businesscritical applications used by thousands of people internally and externally 24/7 all over the world. Our development team in Gdynia is closely collaborating with business to provide our customers Software solutions to report CO2 emissions of their fleet and our end users to verify this data.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with teams across different locations to architect solutions tackle real problems and see projects through to completion.
Designing and developing applications where data plays a central role in the product.
Implementing a robust set of services and APIs to support the applications.
Building reusable code and libraries for future use.
Optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Staying updated on the latest technology trends.
Sharing and discussing technology with a wide network of likeminded colleagues.

Qualifications
As a Software Engineer you can work both frontend backend and in databases of applications. Technical architecture may also become part of your tasks.
Your skills:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
8 years of professional experience in designing developing and delivering robust scalable and maintainable software solutions using the Microsoft technology stack including: .NET (C#) React TypeScript WebComponents WebAPI GraphQL NServiceBus MS SQL.
Strong understanding of microservice architecture APIs and modern system design principles.
Experience in the full lifecycle of the application.
Experience with agile development practices.
Fluent in English with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
