This facility is home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center a leadingedge hybrid surgical unit that offers advanced technologies to perform a wide array of procedures ranging from traditional to minimally invasive approaches. And the Cotton Family Birth Center has received the Baby Friendly designation by BabyFriendly USA.

Scope of Work

The clinical nurse under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patientfamily centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Beaumont policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Required Associates Degree or equivalent Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associates degree or from an ACEN accredited Diploma program.
  • Required Bachelors Degree B.S.N. M.S.N. DNP/PhD if not minimum BSN prepared new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to sign an educational contract upon hire to complete BSN within specified timeframe and adhere to contract stipulations. RN must enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within the next four (4) years. This is effective September 1 2017.
  • 2 years of relevant experience 2 years related acute care nursing experience. Must demonstrate proficiency through competency testing in all nursing areas eligible for floating. Required
  • Internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must be approved by their current nurse leader and the site Chief Nursing Officer. The candidates are to remain a unitbased PRN (casual) employee until they reach 2 years of nursing experience. Required

  • CRTBasic Life Support (BLS) AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
  • CRTBasic Life Support (BLS) ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required Or
  • CRTBasic Life Support (BLS) CANADIANHEARTANDSTROKEFOUNDATION #N/A Upon Hire required
  • CRTAdv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA American Heart Association Endoscopy (exception for Dearborn Farmington Hills Taylor). Upon Hire required Or
  • CRTAdv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA American Heart Association Radiology PreOp PACU Emergency Care Critical Care 180 Days required
