Galileo is a strategic program driven by Roche Informatics established to leverage AI to innovate optimize operational business value and improve healthcare outcomes at Roche. As part of this initiative our Responsible AI team is dedicated to translating responsible AI and ethical principles into practice to enable the full potential of AI while minimizing risk through ethical compliant and efficient AI implementation across the organization. By driving the responsible deployment of AI solutions through the AI CoE we support the development scaling and adoption of trustworthy solutions to achieve exponential health benefits for patients health systems and societies globally.
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Scientist with expertise in Responsible AI practices to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in developing AI and machine learning solutions as well as a strong understanding of model evaluation practices. This role will involve the integration of responsible AI methodologies into business processes ensuring our operations align with Roches ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible AI Development: Collaborate with data scientists AI engineers AI experts AI product owners and stakeholders (e.g. legal security quality ethics) to integrate responsible AI principles into scalable and robust applications ensuring ethical AI deployment and compliance with regulatory standards.
Automated AI Risk Evaluations: Design develop and integrate tools that support the automated evaluation of risks in LLM Models and AI solutions.
Performance Evaluation: Implement and refine techniques to evaluate the accuracy of AI outputs while promoting value consideration in AI solutions.
Bias Mitigation: Implement and refine techniques to identify mitigate and monitor biases in AI outputs promoting fairness and inclusivity in AI applications.
Understanding of Roches Ethical Principles: Develop tools and frameworks to integrate Roches ethical principles into the development and deployment of AI solutions.
Guide Product Teams: Collaborate with AI product teams to integrate responsible AI principles into the development and deployment of trustworthy valuable and compliant AI solutions.
Training and Upskilling: Contribute to customized training programs on Responsible AI for various personas within the Roche Enterprise ensuring widespread understanding and adoption.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with compliance legal regulatory IT security quality and ethics teams and within the AI Center of Excellence to ensure AI solutions meet ethical and regulatory standards and support the adoption and integration of responsible AI practices.
Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical results into clear actionable insights for stakeholders driving datadriven decisionmaking across the organization.
Practical skills required:
Experience: 5 years working with advanced machine learning algorithms and at least 1 year of handson experience with Generative AI; experience in responsible AI practices preferred.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Python and cloud knowledge; familiarity with responsible AI frameworks and tools considered an advantage.
Evaluation Metrics: Deep understanding of model evaluation techniques including performance bias toxicity explainability transparency cost/value.
Feature Engineering & Prompt Engineering: Strong skills in feature engineering text preprocessing and prompt engineering to improve model performance.
Deployment: Experience in deploying AI models with cloud platforms (AWS Azure) and machine learning workbenches for robust and scalable productization.
Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills and the ability to tackle complex challenges with innovative solutions.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex findings clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: Proven experience working closely with various Ix domains ensuring alignment and collaboration between diverse teams. Experience working with compliance legal regulatory IT security or quality is a plus.
Training Development: Ability to create and deliver customized training programs to upskill various personas within the organization in responsible AI practices.
The successful candidate should also:
Hold a . . . . Ph.D. or . in Computer Science Physics Statistics Mathematics or an equivalent degree and experience with Artificial Intelligence.
