Position Overview

CSWI is seeking a detailoriented and collaborative Corporate Tax Associate to join our growing tax team. This position reports directly to the Corporate Tax Manager and plays a key role in supporting the federal and state tax compliance provision and planning functions across a decentralized organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to grow in a lean dynamic and collaborative environment with exposure to a variety of tax areas across a publicly traded organization.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze data for the computation of book/tax differences.
  • Prepare supporting workpapers account reconciliations and documentation for federal state and local income tax calculations.
  • Assist in preparing the quarterly and annual consolidated tax provisions.
  • Prepare and file federal state and local corporate income tax returns using Onesource Income Tax software.
  • Process estimated tax payments including preparing detailed calculations and payment vouchers.
  • Support tax audits by preparing responses to document requests and drafting correspondence or appeals.
  • Analyze and respond efficiently to notices and correspondence from various taxing jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with subsidiary businesses on indirect tax processes to ensure complete and accurate reporting of sales/use tax property tax and unclaimed property.
  • Conduct tax research to document proper tax treatment of challenging tax issues.
  • Organize and maintain tax files including compliance filing calendars payment schedules and SOX documentation.
  • Assist with special projects for the internal tax team as needed.

    Experience and Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in accounting or taxation MST/CPA preferred.
    • 23 years of experience in public accounting or 34 years with a multinational company.
    • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
    • Firm understanding of US federal and state corporate income tax laws and regulations.
    • Familiarity with consolidated corporate tax provision and compliance processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel (including calculations lookups & other financial formulas).
    • Familiarity with or ability to learn tax software applications (OneSource Income Tax OneSource Tax Provision and SAGE depreciation software).
    • Proficiency in tax research skills including the Checkpoint tax research tool.
    • Ability to work and thrive in a lean organization.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and thrive in a decentralized lean team environment.
