About Bronx Childrens Museum (BxCM): Founded in 2005 Bronx Childrens Museum is a new kind of multicultural Bronxinspired childrens museum operating with and without walls geared to those from infancy through nine years old. Bronx Childrens Museum nurtures children to find their voice fulfill their potential and connect to their communities the Bronx and the world beyond. Since 2010 the Museum has engaged more than 150000 children and families in science and artsbased programming at 774 different community events and 103 educational institutions including schools afterschool programs communitybased organizations shelters libraries local festivals and parks. In December 2022 Bronx Childrens Museum opened its brand new 13000 sq. ft. facility in the South Bronx in an historic NY Cityowned former powerhouse building along the Harlem River just steps from Yankee Stadium and Bronx Terminal Market. The facility features sitespecific art installations by 14 Bronxconnected artists and interactive exhibits where families can play learn and connect to the Bronx. It is the firstever childrens museum facility in the Bronx. Through ongoing outreach programing and inbuilding visits the Museum anticipates engaging nearly 36000 children and families in 2023.

If you love inspiring creativity guiding young minds through exciting Arts & STEAM activities and being part of a fun fastpaced environment this could be the perfect role for you!

What Youll Do:

• Bring positive energy and a love for working with kids to our Arts & STEAM programs.
• Engage and guide children and their families through various handson activities and creative projects.
• Help with the setup cleanup and smooth running of daily programs.
• Keep our materials organized and ensure our storage spaces are tidy.
• Represent the Bronx Childrens Museum at community events and offsite programs.

More About the Role:

• This is a parttime position with a flexible schedule that varies based on program needs.
• Opportunities for extra hours may be available based on your skills interests and program requirements.
• Youll report to the Arts or STEAM Program Manager and may need to travel to outreach events and schools within the Bronx.
• Some weekend and evening work will be required making every day a new adventure!
• This is an active handson roleperfect for someone who enjoys staying on the move and making a difference!

We hope you:

• Have a commitment and passion for the Bronx Childrens Museum mission
• Have a love and enthusiasm for working with children and their families
• Have prior experience working with young children in a formal or informal education setting; ideally 3 years
• Have a background or strong interest in education
• Have at least a HS Diploma or A.A. (ideally) in education the arts science or a related field
• Have passion for education and learning
• Have strong written and verbal communication as well as critical thinking skills
• Are warm friendly and outgoing
• Are willing to learn new skills and grow into a position of leadership within the department
• Are attentive to detail willing to learn and team oriented
• Are bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
