Job Description:
Architectural Designer.
Prepare detailed drawings architectural design plans and construction documentation from concept design through construction in conformity with project requirements under supervision of licensed architect. Assigned projects include design and construction of municipal projects healthcare facilities and related structures and all phases of architectural project development from concept development schematic design design development construction documentation and construction administration to project closeout. Assist in developing design and technical solutions for projects in all phases including graphics renderings physical modeling and performance metrics; coordinate and manage complex projects. Determine with project management technical approach and design criteria; ensure conformance with standards established architectural practices applicable codes and technical adequacy of design and construction; perform design computations and data compilation; execute code analysis material selections and technical solutions for design layouts and construction features; assist in initial design development; develop detailed architectural plans and supervise their execution; perform BIM modeling including 2D drafting and parametric 3D modelling; develop and maintain design and technical Revit models to coordinate project development through initial design phase to production of accurate bid/construction drawings; perform construction administration duties including conducting site visits reviewing contractor work and ; prepare interpretive reports based on results of site visits for review and approval; review shop drawings; prepare estimates schedules and quantity takeoffs as required; analyze design and assembly and material systems design layouts and construction features by researching compiling and recording information; develop and maintain Revit workflow to ensure conformity with project requirements and applicable codes including NFPA 130 international Building Codes; review and provide feedback for contractor issued RFIs and submittals; supervise and mentor junior design staff. Position duties require extensive utilization of Revit AutoCAD Navisworks BIM 360 ACC ProjectWise Structionsite Enscape and VRay; 2D visualization platforms including Bluebeam Revu Photoshop Illustrator and InDesign. Position requires approximately 10% of travel time to conduct site visits to projects in the Baltimore Maryland and Washington DC metropolitan areas.
Minimum requirements: Bachelors degree in architecture followed by minimum 5 years of progressive experience in the duties of the position offered including minimum 1 year of experience in architectural design and construction administration of municipal projects and healthcare facilities. Requires design portfolio demonstrating the ability to create architectural designs for structures suitable for the companys architecture and engineering projects including municipal and healthcare projects and the ability to create highquality digital architectural renderings. Must have successfully completed at least three of six NACARB architectural licensing exams.
