**Experience Credit A maximum of two (2) years may be granted for experience outside the Beaumont Unified School District.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
DEFINITION
Under general supervision a person who operates an automobile over designated SELPA routes transporting school children with special needs and does other related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Drives a car daily or as assigned over designated routes transporting children to and from school or on field trips; maintains order among children in the car and at pickup and dropoff locations; follows District policies in dealing with the discipline of pupils and contact with parents staff and general public; observes all rules and regulations of the District and state laws and regulations regarding transportation of pupils in a safe and efficient manner; also responsible for keeping vehicle clean and fueled.

LICENSE/ REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California Drivers License First Aid and CPR Certificate and aCurrent DMV printout required
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:One year of responsible work with children
Knowledge of:Safe driving practices; First Aid practices.
Ability to:Deal effectively with children with special needs; Maintain a pleasing personality and to get along well with children and adults; Learn designated route including stops and traffic hazards; Maintain order among students; Recognize malfunctions in equipment and take appropriate action; Maintain simple records; Work independently without supervision; Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Good health; Ability to lift and assist students in emergency situation; sit for long duration of time; Pass District physical examination which includes drug screening.
EDUCATION
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
