Job Summary:
Supports mechanical engineers with industrial mechanical equipment operations prepares drafted drawings and specifications and records data.
What You Will Do:
Using complex instruments testing equipment and gauges in their work to test study report and provide suggestions for continual product or process improvement.
Assisting mechanical engineers in the design development and testing of industrial machinery consumer products manufacturing tools and other equipment.
Assisting in the installation and ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery used to manufacture other products as well as operating that machinery.
Preparing mechanical models rough layouts detailed drawings and specifications; analyzing calculating estimating and recording associated data such as costs tolerances detailed characteristics and other specifications.
Education Requirement:
An associates (AAS) or bachelors degree in design engineering technology or a related field

Identifies basic functions and features of a CAD/CAM system.
Product Design MFG:
Knowledge of processes approaches tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
Explains the major components and deliverables of functional and technical designs.
Describes tasks activities and key concerns during the functional and technical design phase.
Cites examples of good and bad designs derived from previous projects.
Clarifies standard design methods tools and guiding principles.

Summary Pay Range:
$28.15 $42.25Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjobrelated knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
