Job Description

Job Title: Member Support Representative
Location: Onsite Help Center Gallup NM 87301
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Compensation: $26.00 $28.00/hour
Employment Type: Temporary (90 days) with potential for temptoperm based on business need
Start Date: ASAP

Position Summary:
A managed care organization is seeking a culturally competent serviceoriented Member Advocate Representative to provide frontline support to Medicaid members and the local community in Gallup New Mexico. This role is especially critical in McKinley County and among the Navajo/Din speaking population. The position supports outreach member services and compliancerelated activities to promote enrollment growth and continuity of care.

This is a temporary role covering a 90day period with the potential for extension or permanent placement based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and support members and visitors at the Help Center location

  • Assist members with ID card requests and general inquiries

  • Guide members through completion of Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) with a focus on supporting nonEnglish speakersNavajo/Din language skills preferred

  • Support Transition of Care (TOC) activities to meet contractual obligations for members moving between care settings

  • Assist with Medicaid eligibility applications and redeterminations especially for Navajo/Dinspeaking members

  • Represent the organization at community outreach events and assist with lead generation and relationshipbuilding

  • Serve as a liaison to broker agents in McKinley County and Northwest New Mexico

  • Ensure member needs are met with empathy professionalism and cultural sensitivity

Impact Metrics:

  • Maintain lead conversion rates of 85% or higher

  • Contribute to Medicaid membership growth through application support

  • Support compliance with TOC and redetermination outreach efforts

Qualifications:

  • 12 years of experience in Medicaid outreach or member services
    (or lived experience as a Medicaid recipient or close family member)

  • Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) preferred

  • Presumptive Eligibility Determiner (PED) preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use; must be able to operate dual monitors and docking station

Key Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication; Navajo/Din language skills highly preferred

  • Demonstrated cultural competence with Navajo communities

  • Ability to support Medicaid eligibility processes and navigate compliance requirements

  • Empathy compassion and strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience representing healthcare organizations in community settings

  • Organized teamoriented and selfmotivated
