job purpose: The Safety Health & Environmental Site Manager will be part of the management team within fairlife LLC reporting to the VP Environmental & Safety. This position oversees the Safety Health & Environmental programs for the Goodyear production facility. This role is paramount in setting and maintaining best practice systems at our new Goodyear facility. This individual will own compliance within Safety Health & Environmental laws and regulations as well as develop and implement programs for the Goodyear production facility.
responsibilities:
Oversee and administer safety environmental and health systems for the Goodyear facility provide expert guidance and consultation to management and own compliance with all Federal State and local EHS laws and regulations and all applicable reporting submissions.
Design and implement health & safety training programs services strategies and initiatives that are responsive to the needs of the companys facilities and guarantees close integration with overall company policy; monitor program efficiency develop reporting procedures and other methods to measure success and revise processes and procedures as necessary to improve program effectiveness and support a zeroaccident objective
Develop and maintain written departmental procedures to guide management in the application of established safety health & environmental processes and documentation
Establish and implement short and longrange goals objectives policies and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program/project effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement
Perform training needs analyses and initiate develop and/or coordinate the implementation of specific training and development programs for management staff and operators; conducts
new employee orientation and associated activities for safety health and environmental systems. Examples include First Aid/CPR/AED Spill Containment & Reporting etc.
Have expertise in OSHA and track and perform required training annually; experience in participating in VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) is desired
Execute plant evacuation drills biannually to lead and implement the Emergency Evacuation Program
Maintain frequent presence on manufacturing plant floor
Conduct regular safety health and environmental audits throughout the plant to include evaluation of job requirements and ergonomics
Design and implement waste reduction recycling programs and spill containment with a monthly (minimum) reporting of plant performance
Develop implement and maintain visual safety goals vs actuals for use in each department
Plan coordinate and supervise the execution of capitol and expense projects related to environmental health & safety programs
Manage our site safety team and Safety Specialist
Ability to problemsolve and incident investigation
Ensures compliance with all State and Federal regulations including KORE compliance requirements.
skills/qualifications required:
Bachelors of Science Degree in Safety Health or Environmental related field or at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified for an Environmental Health and Safety professional in an industrial/manufacturing setting
Skilled in organizing resources establishing priorities and meeting critical deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
Skilled in examining and reengineering operations and procedures formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
Make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive confidential issues
Analyze and assess training and development needs with the ability to supervise and train staff including organizing prioritizing and scheduling work assignments
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and deliver presentations
Knowledge and understanding of federal and state environmental laws regulations procedures and standards
Knowledge and understanding of employment and union avoidance practices
highly preferred skillset:
Experience in LOTO and machine guarding programs for highspeed manufacturing plants
Adaptability with change management and culture
Experience leading and developing a behaviorbased safety program
Experience with workers compensation and injury case management
Program experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI Analytics
food safety requirements:
Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
Understand observe and comply with the handling and usage of the colorcoded container policy while in the Production Areas.
Perform all duties necessary to meet Company Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product processes quality system or safety system.
Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients processes quality system or safety system.
Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
