The opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and detailoriented Senior LMI Underwriter to join our Underwriting Team. Leverage your experience in mortgage lending credit assessment or credit underwriting in an integral role where youll support a national underwriting portfolio and activities across LMI Underwriting and Operations. This is your chance to make a significant impact by driving quality assurance underwriting excellence and fostering strong stakeholder partnerships in a fastpaced evolving market.
Your new role
In this role you will:
- Underwrite/Credit Assess complex risks within delegated authority adhering to LMI standards and organisational policies.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews across lender portfolios to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Liaise with Internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve technical process and/or credit related issues as they arise.
- Deliver timely and effective decisions and solutions to customers and intermediaries.
- Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives internally and with our external partners.
- Stay up to date with current legislation market trends systems and best practices.
About you
You will possess extensive experience within Residential Lending of a major bank or Lenders Mortgage Insurance products along with:
- A background in credit assessment with practical experience in home loan processing credit decisioning and/or credit quality assurance with previous lending authority held.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with a proactive and professional communication style
- High attention to detail with a track record of accurate and consistent decisionmaking
- Strong problemsolving ability and sound commercial judgement
- A selfstarter who shows initiative and thrives in a fastpaced dynamic environment
