The primary goal of the Church Security Department (CSD) is to promote a safe and peaceful environment in which the mission of the Church can be accomplished. This position helps accomplish goals and tasks specific to the Europe North Area.
This position requires the employee to be available day or night and to respond to the needs of the area at all times. Requires extensive travel within the Europe North Area and weekslong stretches of time away from home.
Duties may include any of the following:
Provides executive protection support to senior Church leaders visiting the Europe North Area. Coordinates closely in preparation for these visits with Church Headquarters Area Presidencies local Church leaders and Area managers. Expected to maintain the highest degree of discretion and deference while in performance of these duties.
Conducts independent analysis and issues technical reports on emerging geopolitical risks that may influence Church and/or missionary operations in a particular country or region.
Provides localized securityrelated counsel and guidance to all levels of Church leadership which may include General Authorities Mission Temple and Stake Presidents Bishops and Branch Presidents.
Networks with security industry counterparts across Europe to include law enforcement entities foreign embassies and corporate security managers; leverages those relationships to deliver appropriate assistance to Church members when needed.
Identifies and solves issues of complex nature that trend beyond ones scope or discipline influenced by culture language etc. Independently bringing resolution to issues.
Persuades and effectively communicates with internal Church departments and external organizations to assist Church Security Department (CSD) in implementing proven methodology and practices.
Operates within moderate to high personal risk in threatening and hostile conditions; able to accept substantial legal and reputational risk.
Selections for this position will not solely be based on an individuals qualifications but will include the needs of the area and Church Security Department.
