Job Description
We re hiring Front End Designers (Remote Government of Alberta)
Start Date: June 2025
Full-Time 1-Year Contract (Extendable up to 2 years)
Remote (Canada-based applicants only)
The Government of Alberta s Digital Design and Delivery (3D) Division is expanding its digital capabilities and seeking up to ten Front End Designers. These roles support digital transformation projects focused on improving public services across Alberta.
Front End Designers will work in cross-functional Agile teams contributing to user-centered digital projects. Responsibilities include creating design systems wireframes prototypes user journeys and specifications while ensuring accessibility and usability standards are met.
Key responsibilities:

Design and deliver digital interfaces aligned with user needs and government standards

Create and maintain prototypes wireframes component libraries and design documentation

Collaborate with developers researchers and product owners in Agile environments

Conduct user testing and accessibility reviews

Participate in Agile ceremonies and ongoing project planning
Must-have experience (minimum 2 years):
-
Designing web and digital services
-
Developing UX artifacts such as wireframes storyboards and prototypes
-
Working in cross-functional Agile product teams
Nice-to-have experience:
-
Building and maintaining design systems
-
Designing for web and mobile platforms
-
Familiarity with Figma Adobe XD Sketch or Axure
-
Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG)
-
Public sector or centralized digital office work experience
A personal portfolio is required as a PDF or attachment with annotated samples. Online-only (URLs) portfolios will not be considered.
