MalaceHR is seeking a dedicated and experienced Facilities HVAC Technician to join our team. This position focuses on general building maintenance and HVAC system support ensuring facility safety comfort and efficiency. You ll be responsible for the installation repair and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems as well as providing broad support for facilities operations.
General Maintenance Support
Monitor the facility to ensure it remains safe secure and wellmaintained.
Perform general and preventative maintenance on mechanical electrical and plumbing systems.
Replace lighting components including bulbs and ballasts.
Assist with moving furniture equipment and materials as needed.
Complete carpentry and basic building repair tasks.
HVAC Installation & Maintenance
Install maintain and repair HVAC/R systems including A/C units heat pumps furnaces and ventilation systems.
Perform system inspections cleaning filter replacement and lubrication.
Read and interpret blueprints wiring diagrams and equipment manuals.
Install and calibrate control systems and thermostats.
Troubleshooting & Repair
Diagnose HVAC malfunctions using testing equipment and digital tools.
Repair or replace components such as motors compressors belts and electrical controls.
Detect and repair refrigerant leaks and perform system troubleshooting.
Compliance & Documentation
Follow all OSHA safety standards and local building codes.
Handle refrigerants and hazardous materials safely and according to EPA guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities system performance and refrigerant use.
Participate in ongoing safety training and best practice updates.
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
3 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC maintenance and facilities support.
EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
Solid knowledge of HVAC systems components and diagnostic tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Valid driver s license and clean driving record.
Physical capability to lift 50 lbs. climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
Flexibility to work occasional nights or weekends for emergency calls.
Preferred:
Vocational training or an associate s degree in HVAC technology.
