Salary: Per the FHEA Master Agreement Salary Schedule

Schedule:Beginning with theSchool Year

Job Summary:We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Elementary STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster creativity critical thinking and problemsolving through interdisciplinary projectbased learning that aligns with Michigans academic standards. This position involves designing and delivering engaging STEAM experiences to elementary students (grades K4) collaborating with classroom teachers to incorporate science and other content area standards and promoting a growth mindset in all learners.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate (K5 All Subjects or K8 All Subjects SelfContained)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of science math technology integration and/or engineering education
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with STEAM curriculum or makerspace environments
  • Familiarity with technology coding or robotics

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement handson inquirybased STEAM lessons aligned with Michigan Academic Standards and NGSS.
  • Implement Project Lead the Way curricular resources.
  • Focus on integrating the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
  • Integrate technology and engineering practices into crosscurricular learning experiences.
  • Foster student engagement through projectbased learning makerspace activities robotics coding and other innovative tools.
  • Collaborate with gradelevel teachers to design integrated STEAM experiences that support classroom learning.
  • Use data to inform instruction and differentiate lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Create a safe inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration and collaboration.
  • Assess student growth in content knowledge creativity collaboration and problemsolving.
  • Manage classroom materials equipment and STEAM lab resources.
  • Participate in professional development school initiatives and curriculum planning.
  • Communicate effectively with students families and colleagues.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors. The employee is directly responsible for the safety wellbeing and work output of students.

Mental Functions:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to compare analyze communicate both orally and in writing copy coordinate instruct compute synthesize evaluate use interpersonal skills compile and negotiate.
