Product Review Engineer L3

The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an experienced/lead Product Review Engineer located in San Antonio TX.

As a member of the rapidly growing F/A 18 Service Life Modification team you will have the opportunity to experience new capability incorporation into the modification line and a substantial increase of aircraft inductions over the next several years. We expect you to be a key addition to the SLM Program Office and will lead important elements of the program to include the Standard Repair Manual (SRM) and the Service Life Assessment Program (SLAP) and Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) efforts. The position will also play a key role as the program leader for Lean implementation across multiple modification sites. We will look for you to leverage your experience in project management demonstrate business acumen and can effectively lead and/or influence crossfunctional teams to deliver on commitments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies broad knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles.
  • Assesses and resolves product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
  • Leads research of technical operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions.
  • Leads others to analyze conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for design nonconformances.
  • Develops and implements product/process improvements. Uses innovative approaches and unique applications to address complex nonconforming conditions and to detect deviations.
  • Analyzes reported problems for potential safety issues; recommends and manages complex resolution.
  • Leads develop of interim and final solutions.
  • Provides design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.
  • Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment.
  • Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards.
  • Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Leads activities for onsite disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support teams.
  • Designs appropriate jacking and shoring schemes.
  • Leads the design of interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis.
  • Develops and leads nondestructive test procedures tools and standards.
  • Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards.
  • Develops and implements technical training curriculum for internal or external customers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance PostStart is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.
  • Level 3: 5 years workrelated experience with a Bachelors degree OR 3 years workrelated experience with a Masters degree OR a PhD
  • Level 4: 9 years workrelated experience with a Bachelors degree OR 7 years workrelated experience with a Masters degree OR 4 years workrelated experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Material Review Board Certified

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD Master3 years related work experience). In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD4 years related work experience Master7 years related work experience). In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.
