Job Title: Educational Outreach and Attendance Coordinator
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent
Supervises: Not Applicable
Type of Position: Exempt
The Truancy Coordinator shall work cooperatively with teachers counselors school administrators parents and local agencies to assure compliance with attendance laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in the development and implementation of the schools goals and objectives
- Participates in meetings including RTI where attendance and truancy are issues or concerns about services needed for the family that directly impacts the child or children getting to school
- Work with students to prepare to advocate at their own RTI meetings
- Work with Family Action Planning Team (FAPT) Coordinator
- Coordinates the planning development implementation and maintenance of school attendance and truancy programs with school principals and central office administration
- Work with principals to develop proactive plans for students and families who have high truancy and chronic tardiness to avoid court services
- Assist principals in tracking high needs families re: updates on services and supports
- Investigates services needed for the family that directly impacts the child or children getting to school
- Communicates with other district employees about issues that impact student attendance and truancy
- Works with court services if needed to support students and families who have high truancy and chronic tardiness
- Compiles and evaluates data prepares analysis reports and recommendations regarding school attendance and truancy
- Works with families and supports there needs through programs of engagement community resources and academic support
- Collaborate with NRVCS and court services to schedule truancy meetings and to create individualized attendance plans for students with excessive absences.

Minimum Training and Experience:
Bachelors and/or Masters in psychology counseling social work education or a related field ability to travel between schools during the day and attend community meetings. Background or experience in public education experience in working with families/students preferred.
