Amigos de Guadalupe fulfills its mission by focusing on four strategies: Expansive Outreach (alcance comunitario) Trusted Information & Referral ( amigos de confianza) Targeted Direct Services Program ( comunidad fortalecida) and Case management (compaerismo). The Case Manager will be mostly focused on comunidad fortalecida and compaerismo .
Founded on the principles of justice and advocacy Amigos de Guadalupe Center for Justice and Empowerment is a founding member of the Si Se Puede Collective a group of local agencies working together to make social services more accessible to the Mayfair Community; to strengthen individuals and the community through education; and to address social inequities by creating strong leaders through community organizing.
Introduction:
Amigos de Guadalupe is looking for an experienced BFH Program Manager to work on a new and exciting BFH program. This person will lead a team of case managers to achieve the program and individual family goals of the BFH program initiative. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate team leadership skills the ability to form and maintain and support a team dedicated to the Mission of Amigos and the BFH program goals and objectives of the BFH program initiative which is a highly visible and public program within Santa Clara County.
Position Summary:
The Program Manager will lead the team and support the delivery of all of BFH programming. In doing so the Program Manager will directly oversee all logistics of recruiting and directing volunteers and staff to assure all program goals are being met that families and children are supported and that families achieve their personal goals. A framework of Radical Hospitality and a 2Gen approach provides a critical framework for the program. The Program Manager will operationalize that framework and ensure that all aspects are being carried out including successful case management education housing search support security measures to ensure a safe environment staff schedules and meal program provisions are being met. The Program Manager will have lead responsibility for reporting all data and for managing the implementation of the program service delivery. Finally the Program Manager will work closely with the Director of Economic Empowerment to meet program goals and plans.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead implementation of BFH program strategy to achieve the concrete program goals
- Provide training and strategic direction to all program staff
- Supervision of all program staff
- Building a strong trusting team culture where everyone is valued motivated and supported
- Task management: delegating tasks setting priorities and ensuring that every member knows their role in achieving the teams goals. To avoid confusion delays and errors in work.
- Data tracking and reporting systems using HMIS and Sales Force
- Perform pre and post program surveys
- Knowledge and implementation of 2Gen approach to case management
- Ensure smooth and meaningful integration of Radical Hospitality in creating community
- Work with County staff SCCOE and BFH advocates to ensure best practices are implemented
- Perform other duties that may be assigned to perform support and complete program goals
Case Management Duties:
- Conduct prescreen intake of clients
- Create family plan with head of household
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills
- Goal setting and performance management
- Task planning and assignment
- Delegation and time management
- Problemsolving and decision making
- Connect families with needed and available community resources and followup with clients and agencies as appropriate to document use and success of referral services
- Input data of clients into agency database
- Running error data reports using HMIS
- Provide all required documentation in a timely manner including client followup outcomes and evaluation
External Relationships & Regional Advocacy:
- Proactively promote mission vision strategic goals and community impact among partners allies and potential allies
- Conduct tours and speak about the theory change through 2Gen approach to case management and Radical Hospitality to a variety of audiences
- Bring together BFH participants and ADG current housing clients for training and leadership development
- Create opportunities for participants to work with any and all housing stakeholders in order to find creative solutions to the Silicon Valley housing crisis
Other Job Duties:
- Participate in regular staff meetings staff training programs including conducting staff training programs as assigned and attending supervisory meetings
- Recruit and manage volunteers
- Adhere to Amigos agency policies and procedures and
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- MA in Social Work or related field preferred and/or 3 years as supervisor in the areas of housing social work public health field or education
- Fluent in Spanish and bilingual/biliterate
- Lived experience with poverty or homelessness preferred
- A minimum of two years of experience working in a nonprofit setting or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of housing issues and related social policy issues and research and community resources
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and ability to document cases and reports as appropriate
- Ability to work in a variety of settings among culturallydiverse individuals and families
- Culturally competent and
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
