The Director of Development will be responsible for raising significant funds yearonyear to support ambitious bursary and capital projects and working with the Head of Alumni Relations and Stewardship to deliver on the new campaign objectives.
Building a culture of philanthropy throughout the school the successful candidate will develop relationships with regular midvalue and major donors such as individuals trusts foundations and corporates ensuring a steady stream of donations and creating a portfolio of prospects.
The role also involves close collaboration with the Head of Alumni Relations and Stewardship to attract manage and retain supporters. This will involve developing a cohesive approach to external relations such as writing compelling proposals/applications for support from trusts foundations corporates and individuals to secure funding as well as working on events and wider media/marketing to support and promote fundraising goals.
About the ideal candidate
A collaborative individual with a strong understanding of running annual appeals and legacy campaigns is essential as is a strong understanding of trusts and foundations fundraising.
The ability to write compelling proposals and develop and sustain positive working relationships with staff at all levels is equally important.
Strategic thinking is required as well as excellent leadership and collaborative skills to lead and support colleagues to reach fundraising targets.
