ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We re partnered with a leading selfperforming infrastructure contractor looking to add a skilled Structural Bridge Superintendent to their growing team in Vancouver BC. This is a careerdefining opportunity to lead major civil works and bridge projects contributing to some of the region s most critical transportation infrastructure.
As a Superintendent you ll oversee construction from the ground up critical lifts girder erection concrete abutments and more while mentoring crews and collaborating with senior project leadership. If you re a fieldfirst leader with a trade background and a passion for complex builds this is the role for you.
This contractor is known for its collaborative culture handson leadership team and strong pipeline of infrastructure work across rail transit and public infrastructure sectors.
THE ROLE: STRUCTURAL BRIDGE SUPERINTENDENT
In this role you ll lead the execution of bridge and retaining wall projects valued from $20M $75M managing teams of 12 20 crew members while maintaining schedule quality and safety standards. This is a bootsontheground leadership role for someone who s come up through the trades and thrives in a fastpaced teamoriented environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading field operations for complex structural projects including abutments falsework girder erection and concrete works
- Managing and mentoring a team of 2 3 foremen and carpenters
- Conducting constructability reviews and working with PMs on estimates takeoffs and change orders
- Ensuring full compliance with MOTI BC specs project contracts and safety procedures
- Collaborating with Project Coordinators and Managers on schedules costing and overall project value
- Supporting project delivery for a variety of structures including highway bridges transit and port infrastructure
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- 15 20 years of bridge construction experience with at least 10 years as a Superintendent
- Red Seal Carpenter or equivalent trade background
- Experience leading crews on major civil infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of formwork systems (PERI falsework structural steel castinplace)
- Collaborative leadership style focused on mentorship and team performance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to contribute to project documentation and reporting
- Bonus: experience with budget software and P3/public infrastructure work

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with Estimating in project pursuits, including risk management, sub contract buy outs and proposals as needed Prepare and manage sub contractor contracts and hold backs for project milestones Monitor project status reports for performance in safety, cost forecasting, and scheduling Manage the financial performance of the projects including approval of change orders Managing project team, client representative, consultant and trade contractor relationships. Monitoring progress of the design, including compliance issues, quality, general coordination, constructability, and timing of deliverables. Thorough communication of potential opportunities and challenges, and managing client s expectations through regular communication. QUALIFICATIONS: Post secondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline. 10+ years heavy civil construction experience with at least 3 years in a Project Management role Experience in estimating civil and infrastructure projects preferred Experience managing heavy civil projects such as bridges, underground infrastructure, excavations and/or road construction Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation. In-depth knowledge of the construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices. Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
