SoftLabs is seeking Radio Frequency Tenchnologist(APS6 Senior Technology and Security) for ICT Labour hire at their technology consulting based in ACT.
Job details
Radio Frequency Technologist is required by ASD to work across a variety of disciplines including RF hardware design software configuration testing and completing systems engineering documentation and procedures. They will be required to support team members in their required area of expertise and share their knowledge to aid in improving staff understanding.
Key duties and responsibilities
- As directed undertake the design integration testing and documentation of engineering subsystems
- Plan design manage execute and report test and test procedures using appropriate testing tools and techniques
- Produce technical documentation
- Undertake testing and fault finding using electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes logic analysers spectrum analysers) of RF communications systems and components.
- Assist in the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures
- With guidance perform design review

Essential Criteria
- DESN 4: Designs system components using appropriate modelling techniques following agreed architectures design standards patterns and methodology. Identifies and evaluates alternative design options and tradeoffs. Creates multiple design views to address the concerns of the different stakeholders and to handle functional and nonfunctional requirements. Models simulates or prototypes the behaviour of proposed system components to enable approval by stakeholders. Produces detailed design specifications to form the basis for the construction of systems. Reviews verifies and improves own designs against specifications.
- RFEN 4: Investigates and resolves systemwide fault conditions using a wide range of diagnostic tools and techniques. Reconfigures equipment to circumvent temporary outages. Specifies selects and integrates RF devices in a system. Defines internal communication protocols for transmission over the available frequencies. Reconfigures devices and software to optimise performance.
- TEST 3: Designs detailed functional test cases and scripts covering various scenarios and boundary values. Actively participates in requirement and design reviews refining test plans based on insights gained. Undertakes structured exploratory testing to investigate and verify functionality. Prepares test data configures environments and automates repeatable tests. Executes tests logs defects with detailed information and analyses results to assess system functionality.

- Electrical Trade Certificate
- Application of ARPANSA RF Standard
- Experience in RFoIP technologies
