MDH Spring Grove Hospital Center
55 Wade Avenue
Catonsville MD 21228

Main Purpose of Job

This position function as the Coordinator of CoOccurring Disorder Services (psychiatric disorders coexisting with substance use disorders) program for the Spring Grove Hospital Center under the direction and management of the Chief of Psychology while serving as an Addictions Counselor. The population served by this position is dually diagnosed patients having mental disorders and coexisting substance abuse pathology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling or Clinical Psychology or a Doctorate degree (PhD PsyD). Must be licensed as one of the following: Psychologist Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) and be Board approved drug and alcohol supervisor within three months of hire.

Qualified candidates should possess four years of professional (Masters level) experience or three years (Doctorate level). One year of supervisory/managerial experience is also required.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Desired candidates should possess the following:
  • Indepth knowledge of cooccurring severe mental illness and substance use disorders and familiarity with evidencebased treatment models (CBT ACT DBT and/or motivational interviewing)
  • Strong leadership skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams management and clients

SELECTION PROCESS
