Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24 1955 as a 238bed community hospital. Today the hospital is a 1101bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine with more than 1400 Beaumont doctors on faculty.
Scope of work
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection.
Overview:
This is a paid apprenticeship model which is a 16week program that combines related online education through the ASRT and on the job learning at Corewell Health.
Completion of this program satisfies the ARRT 16credit Structured Education Requirements for CT.
After successful completion of all 12 modules of the program participants will receive 16 CE credits and a document from the ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists) recognizing their achievement.
Program includes requirement for a 1year commitment as a CT Tech (at a .5 FTE status or higher) with Corewell Health that will begin upon entering a CT Technologist position.
Qualifications
Required Associates Degree Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
