Job Title: Database Administrator 2
Location: Hybrid (Must be available to work onsite 2 days/week subject to change)

Reports To: Regulatory LTC Application Manager or Designee
The Database Administrator 2 will lead and support the planning development implementation and performance optimization of complex relational database systems that support the HHSC Division of Regulatory Services. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the efficiency security and accessibility of data across multiple platforms including Oracle Cloud RDBMS and Salesforce CRM. The role requires strong expertise in data modeling PL/SQL development ETL processes and performance tuning with a focus on maintaining system integrity compliance and reliability.
Develop test and deploy complex database programs and stored procedures using PL/SQL and related technologies.
Evaluate user requests for new data elements and incorporate them into the shared data environment.
Design and maintain logical and physical data models entity relationship diagrams and data dictionaries.
Lead database performance tuning efforts and recommend optimizations.
Implement and maintain database objects within Oracle Cloud RDBMS and Salesforce CRM environments.
Generate scripts using data modeling tools to support data integration and development processes.
Develop and document sourcetotarget mappings to support ETL processes.
Support the creation and maintenance of Tableau dashboards and other data visualization tools.
Perform database recovery backup and security procedures.
Ensure compliance with EIR Accessibility standards and provide support when accessibility issues arise.
Collaborate with IT development and operations teams to gather business requirements and align database solutions with agency goals.
Assist in system documentation code walkthroughs and user training activities.
Monitor analyze and improve data integrity storage strategies and disaster recovery protocols.
Required Skills and Experience
(Minimum 7 years of experience unless otherwise stated)
Strong experience evaluating user requirements and integrating new data elements into shared systems.
Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g. Tableau Azure Data Factory Informatica).
Advanced experience in logical and physical data modeling and ER diagram creation.
Proven track record designing creating and maintaining complex production data models.
Handson experience implementing database objects in Oracle Cloud RDBMS and Salesforce CRM.
Expertise in developing PL/SQL packages stored procedures and database triggers.
Ability to generate scripts using modeling tools and incorporate changes to existing data models.
Experience performing requirement analysis and providing data mapping guidance for ETL development.
5 years: Effective collaboration with crossfunctional teams including IT support development and operations.
5 years: Demonstrated creativity and ability to exercise independent judgment under minimal supervision.
4 years: Strong communication skills with the ability to update stakeholders on issue resolution status.
4 years: Familiarity with standard concepts and practices in database administration and programming.
2 years: Experience with ETL processes and tools understanding of extracting data from diverse sources.
2 years: Certification in Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Informatica (preferred).
2 years: Experience working with PERL scripts (a plus).
2 years: Experience creating and managing Tableau dashboards.
Note: This is a hybrid role requiring both onsite and remote work. Candidates must be available to report to the office at least 2 days per week.
