Job Summary:The Programmer Analyst II designs develops supports and codes low to moderatecomplexity software systems to support the administrative function of the University under moderate supervision. This may include departmental and moderately critical applications. Develops processes and web applications. Creates workflows. Installs customizes supports and creates integrations for vendorsupplied software systems. Works on a team and collaborates with specific departments colleges and customers around campus. Supports their needs troubleshooting and resolving issues and responding to their questions and concerns in a timely manner.
Additional Department Summary:This intermediatelevel position is a part of the IT Operations Support & Process Development team which primarily develops custom processes using Microsoft Power Platform. Supports AssetWorks AIM and M5 applications. The team develops processes and web applications using C# .NET and Power Platform. The team also designs manages and maintains webpages using WordPress and SharePoint and supports vendorsupplied software systems including Microsoft 365 Power Platform tools AssetWorks AiM FleetFocus and FuelFocus.
The team helps to support the following campus partners: Campus Development Compliance Enterprise Operations Public Safety and Facilities.
As a consultant in residence although supervised by centralized IT in OIT this position will work directly with a single department as their primary resource to support their IT needs such as troubleshooting resolving issues and responding to their questions and concerns in a timely manner. As a member of central IT this position will have access to a department of professional IT resources who can assist when necessary.
Develops maintains and supports software processes web applications reporting suites and training materials. Maintains websites using WordPress. Installs customizes supports and creates integrations for vendorsupplied software systems. Analyzes and resolves problems arising with the use of software systems. Manages hardware inventory and upgrades.
Supports Facilities and Grounds as their primary resource to support IT needs. Troubleshoots and resolves issues. Responds to questions and concerns in a timely manner.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Masters degree; OR bachelors degree and two (2) years of IT programming experience; OR associates degree and four (4) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of IT programming; OR High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of IT programming.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge:Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and work with customer groups and users of varying degrees of technical ability and understanding. Ability to manage work tasks and follow through to completion. Effective time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Troubleshooting skills to analyze track and resolve issues. Ability to implement departmental thirdparty applications analyzing installation and configuration documentation to successfully install and take on support for an application.
Preferred Qualifications:Some experience supporting or working with higher education administrative applications and tools such as AssetWorks AiM FleetFocus and FuelFocus. Some experience with Power Platform and Power Apps WordPress and SharePoint. Base knowledge of managing Windows Server applications including IIS management and configuration and a base knowledge of Linux commands.
Experience in relevant IT fields such as development and maintenance of software applications relational database management systems computer programming web development or system administration.
Some experience supporting moderately complex systems and troubleshooting application issues. Some experience with working with customers to gather and analyze requirements. Some understanding of relational databases and ability to write and analyze SQL queries and reports preferably with Oracle MS SQL or MySQL. Ability to analyze table data structures and patterns in the data to gain insights.
