You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Boston University Department of Environmental Health is seeking candidates with experience engaging with communities and decision makers to conduct qualitative research and support research translation on extreme heat energy and health. The Research Associate position fulfills the needs of a new Climate Impact Award funded by Welcome Foundation titled Making extreme weather health impacts visible through household energy climate and sustainability policies in frontline communities.
The Research Associate will: 1) coordinate communication between project investigators and stakeholders including community based organizations and city government leaders in Boston New Orleans and Phoenix 2) contribute to design and implementation of mixed methods communityengaged research projects in the three cities: Boston New Orleans and Phoenix 3) mentor student researchers involved in the community engaged research projects 4) engage in writing activities supporting research translation communications and policy 5) analyze research data and contribute to writing manuscripts.
Besides the EH Department this work is conducted with the BUSPH Center for Climate and Health and the BU Institute for Global Sustainability. The Center for Climate and Health motivates crosssector action towards mitigation and helps communities across the globe better prepare for current and future threats to our wellbeing. The Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS) is an interdisciplinary institute focused on planetary and environmental healthclimate governance and sustainability transitions andenergy systems of the future.
