Essential Functions
Provide Academic Support during Assigned Hours Aid students by (1) providing clarification of instructions information and concepts of student assignments (2) assisting students to increase subjectspecific competencies (3) promoting independent learning strategies to boost student selfconfidence and (4) promoting effective study practices needed to master content. Always be punctual to appointments or assigned hours and notify the Director of appointment cancellations. Functions as a Member of the Tutoring and Learning Center Team Interact with colleagues students and staff in a manner that promotes a positive image of SCC and the Tutoring and Learning Center which promotes/supports instructional and institutional referral services such as retention accommodations counseling and/or other student services. Record Maintenance Maintains records associated with students receiving tutoring and assists in creating reports on such data when needed. Promote Positive Communication Promote support and incorporate the Colleges positive communication processes with reflective and transparent communication compassion and respect toward the views and ideas of others. Promote a Culture of Belonging Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students faculty members and college employees feel welcomed valued and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the Colleges policies and programming related to access fair employment and equal opportunities for all.
Minimum Qualifications
Completed at least one semester of College. Completed intended courses to tutor with a Grade B or higher.
